I'm Ali.
I design systems end to end, from app to database.

I work across the whole shape of a product: web services, web and mobile apps, and the enterprise platforms that tie them together. My part is usually deciding how the pieces fit, then working with the teams who build them to keep that decision honest.

At one company I helped design and roll out the CI/CD pipeline that more than 400 repositories now run on, working with several teams so services that depend on each other could ship without getting in each other’s way.

I was also involved in the architecture for how those products communicate, service to service internally and from external customers through to internal systems, and in the security layers that sit across it.

Underneath it all is the data. I design data models for both SQL and NoSQL databases, and choose between them by how the data is actually read and written.
